Dark Sky
New Orleans’ weather is best described as “bipolar”. One minute it’s raining and one neighborhood over, it’s sunny. There’s an app called “Dark Sky” that will help you better navigate the weather. It tells you the exact weather based on your location, down to the minute so you know when to duck for cover into the local bar.
New Orleans Historical
Have you ever walked through your neighborhood and wondered how long that old church has been there? New Orleans Historical app contains an abundance of knowledge about local history, places and more. It provides a background on lesser known facts about local culture, and the most useful component is the map feature. It pinpoints places of historical interest for the whole city, so you can play tourist-at-home. The app also offers mobile tours such as: “New Orleans Food History”.
Airpnp
We’ve all been in the “SOS, need a bathroom immediately!” situation. Well, Airpnp solves that problem. Like Airbnb, it is clean bathrooms to rent for a small fee. And when the line at Jean Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop during the Red Dress run is around the block, any small fee is acceptable. The fares run from between $2 and $5 and you can rate the bathroom you used.
