City’s hottest poboy shops coming together to help Guy’s

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Some of the most popular poboy shops in the city are coming together to raise money for a local landmark.

Guy’s Po-boys on Magazine Street has been through two fires and most recently a car that crashed into the restaurant’s dining room. The poboy shop reopened in time for Jazz Fest this year, but still, fellow poboy shop owners from around town wanted to help.

Saturday, June 18, from noon – 4 p.m. there will be a Po Boy Street Party to support Guy’s. It will take place at Guys, 5929 Magazine Street.

For $15, attendees will get a taste of poboys from Guy’s, Parkway Bakery and Tavern, Tracey’s Original Irish Channel Restaurant and Bar, Parasol’s Restaurant and Bar, Killer Po-Boys and Ye Olde College Inn – along with a soda and a bag of Zapp’s chips.

Live music will be provided by The Hot Club of New Orleans.

All proceeds will benefit Guy’s Po-boys.

“All of these poboy shops just wanted to give Guy’s our support and a little publicity to let people know he’s up and running again,” said Tracey’s owner Jeffrey Carreras.

“This is our culture, and helping out is only natural,” said Parkway owner Justin Kennedy.
