NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Are you part of the Pokemon Go craze that’s sweeping the world? The game is played by many New Orleanians and some, around 150, showed up to a specific location in City Park Tuesday night lured to the spot from a feature inside the game.

WGNO Meteorologist and Pokemon Go enthusiast Jason Disharoon was among the crowd.

He said the game is definitely getting people out of their houses and meeting new friends.

A crowd is expected Wednesday night in the same location.

Over the weekend, police near St. Louis issued a warning to Pokémon Go fans after multiple armed robbers used the app to target their victims, by setting up a “Pokéstop.”
