HARAHAN, La. (WGNO) — For the second year, Chamber of Horrors is back with all new scares at its new location at 7335 Jefferson Highway, in Harahan.

Chamber Of Horrors grew from a backyard haunted house in LaPlace to an 18,000 square foot space.

Creator, Edward Dupuy, has always had a love for haunted houses. “People came through and they were like ‘ this is great’ and I’m like you think this is great? Well, wait till next year!”

Edward gets his props from nationwide conventions. His haunted mansion themed location is stacked with animatronics, CGI’s, air-powered props, and pepper’s ghost, which is an effect invented by Disney. The new location has around 20 scenes throughout the house that are designed to terrify you.

Chamber of Horrors also features over 40 actors that interact throughout the experience, so it is not for the faint heart, be prepared to be chased by villains with a chainsaw.

The atmosphere is bone chilling but what sets it apart from other haunted houses is that there is nothing satanic about the experience. The price of admission is $15 and they are open 7:30 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays through the rest of October, in addition to the Thursday before Halloween.
