NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Some of the effects that are happening in Hollywood are felt in Hollywood South as well.

“I can’t tell you; I auditioned for this one TV series eight times and 6 of those roles were Caucasian roles just in case they decide to go African America. I was brought to the audition,” actress Jaqueline Fleming said in an interview with WGNO’s Hollywood South reporter Jabari Thomas.

Spike Lee told us that he’s not going to the Oscars in 2016 because it is not diverse enough. “I’ve known for this many years,” Spike told Jabari. “…but after the second consecutive year in the acting category is 20 white actors no people of color.”
