PLAQUEMINE’S PARISH, La– As thew freshest seafood fest in southern Louisiana comes to a close, the question remains, what is the best seafood of the year?

“Plaqumines parish has the best seafood, straight from your water to the table,” said one festival goer, “so it’s hard to pick a favorite but everyone is loving the oysters this year.”

Fresh from the Gulf, big and salty, the oysters were the fan favorite over the weekend.

Thousands turned out to the festival to get their hands on some of the freshest seafood our state has to offer.

The annual festival will resume next May.
