Scales & Ales
Soak up the sights and sounds at the 7th annual Scales & Ales event with wine and beer from open bars and delicious cuisine from more than 40 local restaurants. Live entertainment and a unique aquatic atmosphere are highlights of the event as it flows throughout the Aquarium and onto the plaza overlooking the Mississippi River. All proceeds benefit the Aquarium’s valuable work in education and conservation.

GULF Dinner
Gulf United for Lasting Fisheries (G.U.L.F.) hosts “Chomp in the Swamp” at Audubon Zoo. The final installment in the 2016 Audubon Nature Institute’s Gulf United for Lasting Fisheries “Summer of Sustainability” dinner series will be in Audubon Zoo’s award-winning Louisiana Swamp exhibit on Thursday, September 15 from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. “Chomp in the Swamp” will feature an array of delicious offerings highlighting the bounty and diversity of Gulf seafood prepared by members of G.U.L.F.’s Chef Council and Restaurant Partnership Program.
The all-inclusive, five-course dinner with craft beer pairing by NOLA Brewing, will support G.U.L.F.’s work to ensure the sustainability of Gulf fisheries and seafood. Guests will ride to the dinner in style on the Swamp Train and oysters shucked by Curious Oyster Company will greet them upon arrival.
Early Bird tickets are $65. Tickets purchased after September 1, 2016 are $75. Couple bundles are available. Guests must be 21 to attend. Parking will be available at the Audubon Zoo and guests will be transported to the Swamp Exhibit via the Swamp Train.

Finding Dory (3-D) at the Entergy Giant Screen Theater
Ellen DeGeneres, voice of the friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish, is back in the Disney-Pixar’s “Finding Dory” – a big-screen adventure that dove into the Entergy Giant Screen Theater earlier in August. The feature film is included in the Theater’s back to school $6 admission offer that runs through September 30th.

Youth Conservation Corps
The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC Nola) is a new program created for students ages 12-19 through a partnership with Orleans Parish 4-H Foundation. YCC Nola engages teens in conservation and community issues through various hands-on workshops and service-learning opportunities with local partners. Each month students can attend two workshops and participate in a service project with local organizations. Workshops will focus on environmental stewardship, outdoor skills, leadership and service learning.
Workshops begin on September 13th.
