Wild Bill Wood

Wild Bill Wood is a 23-time Emmy-winning features reporter.

His life as a storyteller started on his grandmother’s front porch in his hometown of Chesterfield, South Carolina. Population 1,300. Without Bill, population 1,299.

Bill graduated with a master’s degree from Northwestern University and holds a Phi Beta Kappa key from the University of South Carolina.
From Texas to New Mexico to Florida to Food Network, Bill has told stories, hosted shows, even been a weathercaster.

When he’s not on the TV screen, Bill has been in a few big-screen movies and in more than a few college classrooms teaching journalism, public speaking, and English.

When friends come to visit New Orleans, the first place I take them is … my place, which looks old but has a sparkling new view of NOLA.
On Friday & Saturday nights, you’ll find me … recuperating from yoga, probably on the couch.

I’m known around the newsroom for … my wild and crazy stories.
My greatest TV moment was … an interview with Bill and Hillary Clinton the night before his first election.

A TV moment I’d like to forget is … getting hit…with a rock….on the head…..at a rock concert…..on live TV.

The most important lesson I’ve learned through my work as a journalist is … everybody really does have a story.

If I had the time I’d like to … take a nap.
