Hi, Rick Erbach here… I’m the News Director at WGNO News and News with a Twist. So what do I do? Simply, I get to work with incredibly talented people in front of the camera and behind the scenes on a daily basis.
Every day is different. We get to experiment with creative ideas and jump into stories other stations won’t cover. News with a Twist is a groundbreaking local news program. You won’t find it anywhere else. We’re showing people it’s ok to be different in the way news is presented on a daily basis.
My news career has taken me around the world covering small town America, wars and conflicts, Presidential elections, and hometown politics. I’ve witnessed Super Bowls, Final 4’s, World Series and the Masters Golf tournament. I’ve been in floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, droughts and heat waves…
But I’ve never been anywhere like New Orleans.
The vibe here is unbelievable—fantastic food and drink, great culture, music, and art—and the people are the nicest I have ever met in all of my travels. When I have plenty of family and friends come visit, we usually head down to the French Quarter for live music and dinner at Coops Place or Red Fish Grill. Coops is great for a beer and friend chicken. If you go to Red Fish Grill, ask for Ike. He’s the best waiter in the French Quarter!
If you’ve read this far and are looking to doing something for your community, consider donating blood to your local Blood Center. I like to give back to the community by donating blood at The Blood Center in Metairie. If you’re healthy, it’s simple and fast plus you can save someone’s life.
We’re always looking for good story ideas to showcase on WGNO News or News with a Twist. If you have an idea or just want to share your opinion on something you watched, drop me a line at rerbach@digital-stage.wgno.com.
God Bless Louisiana…
