Carla Pesono is an award-winning journalist who joins WGNO as the co-host of Good Morning New Orleans at 5-7 a.m. and anchor for WGNO News at 11 a.m. She comes to New Orleans from Baton Rouge, where she covered news, weather and traffic for WVLA Local 33 News.
Carla also is the weekly host and producer of “Carla’s Menu,” where she showcases local hidden gem restaurants in the area. Catch a new segment every Tuesday on GMNO at 6am.
Previously, she worked at KSN16 in Joplin, Missouri as the Morning Co-Anchor/Weather/Reporter.
Carla created a similar restaurant segment in Joplin called “Four State Finds” and “Carla’s Kitchen” in Baton Rouge. She also produced a live cooking segment called “What’s Carla Cooking?” on KSN Local News Today.
She’s originally from Buffalo, NY and earned a Broadcast Journalism for TV degree at Columbia College Chicago.
Carla loves the culture Southeast Louisiana has to offer, like food, fishing and festivals. She also enjoys fitness, cooking, playing volleyball, painting and volunteering with her therapy dog, Teddy.
