Brantly Keiek

A native to the Gulf Coast, Meteorologist Brantly Keiek is originally from Pensacola, Florida. He comes to the Big Easy from nearby Gulfport, Mississippi where he was the morning meteorologist on the local NBC and FOX channels for more than two years.

While in South Mississippi, Brantly provided reports on wildfires, tornadoes, tropical storms, and flooding. He most notably covered the historic 2020 and 2021 Atlantic hurricane seasons — reporting from the field in Louisiana and Mississippi for Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Delta, Hurricane Sally, and Hurricane Zeta. In 2021, Brantly provided continuous coverage of Hurricane Ida’s landfall for 16 hours for his station and local NBC-affiliated stations in nearby markets.

Brantly’s passion for weather can be traced back to active hurricane seasons during his childhood. His interest in meteorology sparked when his hometown experienced back-to-back hurricane landfalls in 2004 and 2005.

His desire to learn about the atmosphere led him to study at Florida State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and a Minor in Mathematics.

Prior to graduating, Brantly completed a year-long internship at WEAR-TV in Northwest Florida. The following summer, he briefly worked at the station as a freelance meteorologist.

Brantly enjoys the beach and looks forward to staying close to the coast. He was a competitive swimmer for nearly ten years and loves water sports. At Pensacola Beach, Brantly was a surf rescue lifeguard and emergency medical responder for eight years where he performed over 100 water rescues.
