NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department began investigating a deadly shooting in Central City on Wednesday night.

According to NOPD, the incident happened at the intersection of Willow and 3rd street.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as 39-year-old Aron Quinn, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The NOPD Major Offense Log reports Quinn was traveling in his vehicle when the suspects exited a light-colored SUV and began firing shots. The reason for the gunfire is unclear.

Quinn was struck by gunfire, ultimately succumbing to his injuries. The case has been classified as a homicide.
