JAN. 18 UPDATE: The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the victims as 23-year-old Justin Christopher Ganier and 25-year-old Robert Moody.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department reported a fatal shooting in New Orleans East on Sunday.

According to an initial report received at 12:32 p,m., NOPD detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway that left a 23-year-old man dead and a 25-year-old wounded.

An updated report released at 3:02 p.m. said the second victim that was taken to the hospital by Emergency Medical Technicians for treatment of mulitple gunshot wounds has succumbed to his injuries.

The other victim had already been pronounced dead at the scene.
