NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – New Orleanian Dean Baquet is now the top editor at the New York Times.  It’s one of the most prestigious jobs in the journalism industry.

Baquet comes from a restaurant family and graduated from St. Augustine High School.

Prior to his executive editor job with the NY Times, Baquet spent time at the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune which are owned by the same company that owns WGNO-TV.

During his time with the Chicago Tribune, Baquet won a Pulitzer Prize.
