SLIDELL, La — The Saint Tammany Parish Fire Protection Dist. 1 rescued a worker from high up in the Slidell water tower on Robert Boulevard on Thursday.

Firefighters say the worker was overcome by the heat and nearly fainted.

It happened at around noon. Firefighters say they were able to perform a high angle rescue and safely bring the worker to the ground where an ambulance was waiting to take him to the hospital.
