NEW ORLEANS – A talented Saint is a cap casualty.

Guard Nick Easton was released on Friday, according to the NFL’s Transaction wire.

Easton’s release saves the Saints almost $7 million in salary cap dollars.

Easton appeared in 12 games for the Saints last season.

Tight ends Cole Wick and Jason Vander Laan were also cut. Both players opted out last season.
