NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – New Orleans’ Big Freedia gave boys and girls everywhere an early Holiday present this year.
She dropped a Christmas album over the weekend called “A Very Big Freedia Christmazz.” The Queen of Bounce took some liberties with Christmas classics like “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.”
For example, Big Freedia raps, “Rudy was a big booty reindeer, He lived up in the North Pole, He wasn’t like other reindeers, because they treated him so cold, Rudy only wanted a good time, Rudy only wanted to dance.”
The five song EP has been lauded by NPR.
“Single-handedly, Big Freedia is saving Christmas,” an NPR critic said.
One thing’s for sure, this new album is sure to get your bouncing around the Christmas tree.
