freezewarning

Friday night into Saturday morning will be the coldest temperatures we have felt this season, with widespread temperatures north of Lake Pontchartrain reaching freezing.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for portions of Tangipahoa, St. Tammany Parishes and Hancock county Missississippi, where we expect temperatures to dip to between 25º and 31º until 8 AM Saturday.

As winds die down a bit tonight and skies remain clear, temperatures will fall faster than Thursday evening, allowing for some areas to remain at or below freezing for multiple hours. Remember to bring in your plants and pets if you are in these areas. Also, there is the potential for areas of frost south of the lake by Saturday morning.

Temperatures will begin to moderate Saturday evening, only dipping into the 40s and low 50s.
