METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — According to a statement from Jefferson Parish, the Krewe of Pandora informed the parish that it will not roll in 2017.

According to the statement, the krewe did not specify why it made the decision.

Pandora rolled for the first time just this year.  It was schedule to roll Lundi Gras night at 7:00 on the traditional Metairie route.

The all-women krewe chose hand-decorated blue gift boxes as its signature throw.  The throws symbolize the box that the Greek mythological character Pandora receives as a wedding gift.  Over the summer, the krewe hosted events to decorate the boxes and to grow its membership.

The krewe described itself as “the Jewels of Jefferson Parish Mardi Gras.”  The krewe’s membership was open to all women 21 years of age or older.
