NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Westwego Police Department has posted a video showing a tornado touching down on the Westbank this morning.

In a Facebook post on the WPD’s official page, video shows “an EF0 tornado associated with this morning’s cold front [that] caused minor roof damage in the area of Columbus St. And Avenue D in Westwego. The winds also caused a utility pole to crack.”

No injuries have been reported in the area, according to the post.

The WPD advises residents to stay away from the area until the debris is cleaned up and Entergy has a chance to repair the utility pole.

Columbus Street from Avenue B to Avenue D will remain closed until cleanup is complete.
