COVINGTON, La (WGNO) – When you’re a guy in high school, an 18-year-old senior, you like to eat.

Lunch is like an Olympic event for Jon Rushing at St. Paul’s School in Covington, Louisiana.

WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood counts the calories on Jon’s lunch trays.  That’s right not one, but two lunch trays.  And the calorie count for Jon is about 6,000.

Jon’s not trying to gain weight.  His mission is to lift weight. Well, weights.

Jon Rushing is already the Louisiana state power lifting champion.  Now, he’s going for the world gold.

He hopes to break the world record for weightlifting in his age group.

That means he has lift more than 738 pounds.

Right now, Jon’s just working on lifting that power lunch!

He’s one of a weeklong look at Wild Bill’s Amazing Kids.

Another one is Baby James, the 6-year-old golf star.
