NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s new.  It’s on the menu at Emeril Lagasse’s newest New Orleans restaurant.

It’s boudin, the sausage like mix of pork and rice and spices, and it’s inside a tamale.

WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood found this twist on the tamale at Meril, the restaurant Emeril has opened and named for his daughter, Meril.

Meril is the name Emeril without the “E”.

You can take a bite from a tamale with boudin tucked inside at the party you don’t want to miss.  It’s Boudin, Bourbon & Beer this Friday, November 4 on Champions Square from 6 pm to 10:30 pm.

Chef Emeril Lagasse has been throwing this super-sized party for the last six years.

Emeril joins 60 other chefs from across America who come to New Orleans to create their twists on boudin.

All the money goes to the Emeril Lagasse Foundation which seeks to create opportunities to inspire, mentor and enable youth to reach their fullest potential through culinary, nutrition and arts education with a focus on life skills development.
