NEW ORLEANS(NOPD)- The NOPD is still searching for Kenneth Barnes for his involvement in now 5 armed robberies of multiple businesses.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives have linked Barnes to a fifth armed robbery that occurred on Friday(Oct. 21) at the Shell Gas Station located in the 600 block of S. Carrollton Avenue. At around 8p.m.,Barnes entered the location armed with a box cutter and demanded money from an employee. After taking the money, he was then seen running off in an unknown direction.
Kenneth Barnes has also been identified as the perpetrator of 4 other armed robberies at the Smoothie King in 200 block of North Carrollton Avenue on March 1, 2016; Rite Aid at 1133 South Carrollton (March 2); Maple Street Bookstore at 7529 Maple Street, and the Rite Aid at 7133 St. Charles Avenue (Sept. 29). Barnes also has seven additional warrants for crimes committed throughout the city.
