INDEPENDENCE, La. (WGNO) – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office says that they have arrested two teens for vandalizing a cemetery.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old damaged at least 50 graves and opened several urns filled with ashes and dumped them on the ground.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon at the Colonial Cemetery.

The teens are both facing multiple charges of criminal damage and grave desecration.
