NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Thousands of people came out for the first annual Beignet Festival on Saturday in Lafayette Square.

15 different local restaurants served over 20 iconic and original beignets dishes from Boudin Beignet’s to bread Pudding Beignet’s and even a special dish of Oreo Beignets.

Proceeds from the Beignet Fest will be used to make grants from the Tres Doux Foundation to non-profits that help children with autism.
