  - Opening at the Mexican Consulate in New Orleans
    - The event will include the presenting of the Guillermo De Bango Excellence in the Arts Award to Rev. Pedro F. Nuñez; a presentation of the QPF 2016 official poster by Elsa Baker and “Identity”; and an art exhibit with works by local Latin American artists, Luisa Restrepo, Belinda Shinshillas and Gustavo Duque.

  - “The Origins” Dance Performance
    - The Ivory and the Silk Road Travelers and Micaela y Fiesta Flamenca take the audience on this epic adventure of life through dance giving them a glimpse of the origins of our heritage and dances. The event is co-hosted by the Xavier University of LA Department of Languages, Division of Fine Arts and Humanities.

  - Jazz Concert by the Cuban Pianist Ernán López-Nussa
    - Ernán López-Nussa will perform solo on the piano and will also be accompanied by a traditional New Orleans jazz band that includes members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band: clarinetist Charlie Gabriel, trumpeter Mark Braud and tuba player Ronnell Johnson. The concert held in partnership with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.
