NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Jamba Juice at the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Magazine Street is closing its doors. Managers say the store is closing because of ongoing construction on Louisiana Avenue that has drastically slowed down business.
The sign on the door says the business is closed until further notice.
“Due to the recent construction disruptions we are unable to provide our customers with the level of service and quality of product you have come to expect from us,” the sign on the door says.
Construction on that stretch of Louisiana Avenue began about two years ago in September 2014. It has caused traffic headaches in the area ever since construction began.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is installing a massive underground canal to ease flooding during heavy rain events.
The Army Corps of Engineers said when construction started there that the project won’t be finished until spring of 2018.
