ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) – The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is having a hard time identifying the homicide victim whose body was found Friday morning in the Rigolets along U.S. 90.

According to the sheriff’s office, the body was badly decomposed, and the victim appeared to have been dead for several days.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office ruled the cause of death a homicide, and investigators believe the body was dumped there.

Deputies haven’t been able to find a match with missing persons reports from neighboring agencies, and so far, no tips have come through to identify the body.

The victim was about 5-foot, 10 inches tall and had a scar on his chest from open heart surgery. His age and race haven’t been determined.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Timothy Crabtree at 985-898-2338 or call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
