CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WGNO) – A Virginia man who restores classic cars is now the proud owner of the vehicle that carried the rifle used to assassinate President John F. Kennedy.

WTRV in Richmond, Va., reports that Frank Badalson spent more than $10,000 on the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, which was owned by Lee Harvey Oswald’s friend Ruth Paine.

The vehicle was the only known vehicle that Oswald drove in the months leading up to the Kennedy assassination.

Oswald was born in New Orleans in 1939 and lived here three different times in his life before moving to Dallas two months before Kennedy was killed.

Not only is Badalson a muscle car mechanic, he’s also a huge Kennedy assassination history buff, so owning this vehicle is a win-win. Watch the video above for more.
