NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Footprints to success’s mantra is “Treat yourself” and is all about finding a balance in your fitness journey. New Orleans is one of the most difficult cities to stay fit in, with the consonant temptation of alcohol and heavy food at social events. Wellness coach April Dupre has developed a program that lets you enjoy both.
She hosts healthy happy hours every six to eight weeks. “We partner with different hotels and unique venues around the city to just highlight different places in a different light here in New Orleans, you would come to a hotel and you wouldn’t necessarily think to be active but we want to take an innovative approach of changing the perception of what people think of being healthy in New Orleans,” Said Dupre.
It’s New Orleans-based so it doesn’t limit you from drinking or eating, after the workout the class gathers together to enjoy the calories you just burned off, each time in a different location.
“It’s all about balance. so if you want to have a slice of birthday cake at a party you can do that but you know chose a healthy way of doing it. don’t do it every day you know everything in moderation,” remarked Dupre.
Tickets are $25, and the event typically sells out.
“Come out and have a good time. I’m really excited to just show everybody a different way of living here in New Orleans and a healthy way,” said Dupre. The next event is Monday, July 18th at 6:30 at the Roosevelt.
