Jefferson, La. (WGNO)- The non-profit, Magnolia Community Services, which helps adults with developmental disabilities, just opened its new $1-million dollar Wellness Center.  It is the first of it’s kind in the state, providing special need clients with customized physical fitness services.

Certified fitness trainers work with each client on developing appropriate exercise programs to fit their needs.

Tessa Brough, Wellness Coordinator at Magnolia said, “I believe this center will help them with knowledge on how they need to treat their bodies, exercise properly, and help to meet their specific needs when it comes to balance, fitness level, and strength.”

Magnolia presently serves about 270 clients and their families at their historic 11-acre Jefferson campus.  Their clients help make the decorated toilet brushes for the Krewe of Tucks during Mardi Gras.
