METAIRIE (WGNO) — Bold but maybe not very brainy. Take a look at the above security camera footage that shows two car burglary suspects.
The video was recorded by the victim’s home security camera. It shows two teen or young adult men approach an unlocked car in the Old Metairie area. One looks inside as the other watches.
At one point in the video, the suspect who is seen searching the car for valuables is also seen shining a flashlight at the security camera then apparently flipping it off.
We went ahead an blurred the “flipping-off” portion of the video, but watch it and you’ll still get the picture.
The man who owns the car and the camera says nothing valuable was taken from his car.
According to user comments on Facebook, at least one of the suspects surrendered after his mother saw the video in a post. But the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office did not confirm that any arrests had been made, only stating that detectives were working on the case and more information would be coming soon.
