Waggaman, La. (WGNO)- Today on the 5th day of our Christmas Elf, Kenny Lopez’s Days of Giving, what does he have to give away?

Kenny headed to Waggaman to Cherbonnier/Rilleux Elementary School to surprise an outstanding 2nd grade student!

Kenny teamed up with Pierre the Pelican (The New Orleans Pelicans mascot) to surprise Lee Noel.

Lee’s teacher, Ms. Andi Romano picked him to win the four tickets to go and see the Pelicans play.

“Lee is an outstanding student.  He tries so hard and he behaves so well.  I asked all the students if they’ve ever been to a Pelicans game.  Lee said he had never been and would love to go, so I decided to choose him,” Ms. Romano said.

Lee’s parents were in the classroom when Lee was surprised with the tickets.

“I’m so proud of him.  By recognizing him it shows him that all his hard work in school is paying off,”  Theresa Noel, his mother, said.

The Noel family will go to the Pelicans game at the Smoothie King Center as the Pels take flight against the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night.

Pierre didn’t just surprise Ms. Romano’s 2nd grade class.  He flew right into the cafeteria to surprise the entire school.  Watch Pierre’s antics HERE:
