NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Police are one step closer to solving a string Uptown restaurant armed robberies. Authorities say they’re looking for a person of interest, 21-year-old Dwayne “Butter” Winns.

Winns was previously indicted in connection with a fatal shooting.

Monkey Hill Bar on 6100 Magazine Street, Atchafalaya on 900 Louisiana Avenue, and Patois on 6078 Laurel Street. The suspects took money and personal items from diners and employees.

Patois on 6078 Laurel Street was robbed in late August. Three gunmen ordered customers to the floor and stole wallets, phones and purses.

Atchafalaya on 900 Louisiana Avenue was robbed in early September. Two gunmen stole wallets purses and phones there too. They also stole money from the register.

A similar incident took place at Monkey Hill Bar on 6100 Magazine Street in mid-September.
