PATTERSON, La. (WGNO) — Two Houma men were arrested in South Louisiana after detectives say they were connected to nearly 60 car burglaries in two different parishes.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office says Malik Williams and Collin Caden Charles Tribe, both age 20, were taken into custody Wednesday in connection to the string of break-ins in both St. Mary and Terrebonne parishes.

An investigation lasting several weeks began when several car burglaries were reported in the Broadmoor and Lisa Park areas of Terrebonne Parish. Detectives learned more cars had been broken into in St. Mary Parish, resulting in the arrest of Tribe.

St. Mary detectives recovered several pieces of evidence from Tribe, including multiple firearms, that were linked to the Terrebonne string of burglaries, authorities said Friday. Tribe and Williams, who was also connected to the incident, were both arrested.

Tribe, who was also arrested for the St. Mary Parish cases, was charged with 11 counts of simple burglary in Terrebonne Parish. He remains in custody in St. Mary Parish on other charges.
