MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WGNO) –  After a 23 point outing against the Grizzlies, Anthony Davis continued his hot play as he carried the Pelicans to an 114-103 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.

Davis tied his career-high 43 points and did it on an incredibly efficient 17/23 from the field. He added 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a career-high 6 assists in one of the best games of his young career.

The Pelicans kept control of the game for the majority of the contest, but a late push by former rookie of the year Michael Carter-Williams kept the Bucks within reach. Down the stretch, it was all Anthony Davis, sinking shot after shot from his mid-range sweet spots. Davis scored 9 points in the final quarter, including a cold-blooded jumper with under a minute left to give the Pelicans a comfortable lead.

Unfortunately, late in the 3rd quarter guard Tyreke Evans went down with what appeared to be an ankle injury. Evans seemed to be in significant pain on the floor and was helped off the court without putting any pressure on the ankle. While the seriousness of the injury is currently unknown there was word that he was able to test the ankle and put some pressure on it in the locker room.

Injuries continue to be a huge factor in the Pelicans season as Jrue Holiday is still out indefinitely with a stress reaction, and Ryan Anderson has missed nine straight with an MCL strain.

Still a half game out of the playoffs the Pelicans turn around quickly and face the 25-36 Brooklyn Nets tomorrow in Brooklyn. With Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook on a tear, it will be quite the task for the Pelicans to keep up entering the final stretch of the regular season.
