BATON ROUGE (WGNO) – Amendment No. 10 the Redemption Period, Abandoned Property Act passed with 54 percent of the vote Tuesday.
The amendment gives owners of blighted, abandoned property 18 months to buy back the property if it’s sold at auction. Currently some parishes give property owners years to buy back the property.
