Amy Russo

Amy Russo is an EMMY-nominated reporter who currently serves as WGNO’s weekend anchor/producer and weekday reporter. She joined WGNO-TV in March of 2022.

Amy began her broadcasting career in her hometown of Pensacola, Florida at WEAR-TV as a digital producer. She moved on to become the 6 p.m. newscast producer as well as a sideline sports reporter.

After over a year with WEAR, Amy took her talents to Charleston, South Carolina at WCIV-TV. There, she started as the weekend reporter, before moving to morning reporter and eventually dayside reporter. She was also the fill-in anchor, anchoring several newscasts each week.

While at WCIV, Amy was nominated for an EMMY for her coverage of a mass march on the Ravenel Bridge. Amy spent two years in the Lowcountry developing a strong set of reporting and anchoring skills.

Amy is excited to call New Orleans her home, and may even be more excited to try all the food the Big Easy has to offer.
