HARVEY, La (WGNO) – The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Harvey that left one man dead shortly before noon today. JPSO officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 4100 block of Lac Couture Drive found a 31-year-old man lying in the street. He had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the JPSO. The victim was sitting inside a 2009 Chevrolet pick-up truck along with an unidentified woman in front of 4165 Lac Couture when a man walked up to the driver’s side of the truck. After a brief conversation, the man took out a gun and told the woman to run. The woman later told investigators that she heard gunshots as she was running away. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Investigators have yet to determine a motive or identify any suspects in this investigation, according to a statement from the JPSO.
