NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – There’s a new group in town to inspire kids in New Orleans.

New Orleans megastar rapper Master P is teaming up with New Orleans Pelicans Assistant Coach Robert Pack’s charitable foundation to bring skills and hope to youth.

Team hope – or “helping our players excel – will help at risk boys between the ages of 12 and 15 by creating opportunities and resources to help the young men excel in life.

“This means everything to us because we come from here,” Master P said at an event announcing the mentoring program. “When everybody told us we couldn’t make it. We wasn’t good enough and we excelled. Team Hope is about helping our players excelling for what me and Pack been through.”

The Team Hope program works with students from four schools in New Orleans.
