NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) –  For more than 75 years, people have been standing in line to eat at Mother’s Restaurant in New Orleans.

They use the same recipes of the original mother of Mother’s, Mary Landry.

WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood takes a big bite out of a big and famous sandwich at Mother’s where every day could be National Sandwich Day.

National Sandwich Day is November 3.

That makes the famous sandwich at Mother’s Restaurant even more biteable.

It’s the Ferdi.

It started when a man named, Ferdi, came in and asked for ham on his roast beef sandwich.

The rest is history.

Happy National Sandwich Day!
