BATON ROUGE (WGNO) – An officer-involved shooting in Baton Rouge that left a man dead outside a convenience store is under new scrutiny after a video surfaced showing the shooting.
Alton Sterling was shot multiple times outside of a convenience store about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. Baton Rouge Police told WBRZ they responded to an anonymous call about a man selling CDs who also had a gun on him. When police arrived, Sterling and officers got into an altercation. One officer shot and killed Sterling.
Baton Rouge police say the body cameras worn by the two officers involved in the shooting fell off during the altercation.
