NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) —  New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced changes to the Saints roster Friday. The team terminated contracts of LB David Hawthorne, LB Ramon Humber, and waived WR Seantavius Jones. The club signed CB Tony Carter and FB Austin Johnson.

In his fourth season with the Saints, Hawthorne started in 5 of 11 games. He finished the season with 33 tackles (9 solo), one forced fumble and four special teams stops.

For the past six seasons, Humber has been a standout on special teams standout and contributed on defense. He started 4 of his 14 games in the 2015 season.  He finished with 47 tackles (33 solo), one sack and nine special teams stops.

Jones played primarily on special teams and appeared in three games last season.

Carter has played in a total of 45 games with three starts with the Indianapolis Colts, the Denver Broncos, and the New England Patriots. He’s posted a career total 49 tackles, 19 passes defensed, five fumble recoveries, three interceptions and three special teams stops.

Johnson appeared in 10 games with one start during the 2015 season. He finished 2015 with four carries for nine yards and one touchdown while also registering five receptions for 30 yards.
