NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a man who has entered five homes and watched and in some cases touched, college-aged women while they were sleeping. All the incidents happened over the weekend and in the college area of Uptown.

The NOPD has begun preliminary investigations. They say right now, they’re looking for a white man with dark hair. They believe the same man is the suspect in all five home invasions.

Authorities say home invasions happened in the 7600 block of Oak Street, 1700 block of S. Carrollton, and two on Lowerline — in the 1000 block and 1300 block.

The latest home invasion happened around 3 a.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Broadway Street.

NOPD Commander Shaun Fergueson said in each case, the suspect entered the home or apartment through an unlocked window, door or a broken window pane.

Commander Fergueson said none of the victims have been physically harmed, but the suspect has put his hand over some women’s mouths and in the latest home invasion the suspect got into bed with the woman.

The victims are all in their late teens or early 20s.

Commander Fergueson could not say if the suspect is targeting college women, but Tulane University and Loyola University are working with the NOPD.
