BOURG, La. (WGNO) –  The Terrebonne Sheriff’s Department is investigating the kidnapping of two young girls and the murder of their Aunt.

Investigators say that it all started Tuesday morning in Houma when two girls, ages 7 and 10, approached an adult and told her that their Aunt had been shot inside their house in Bourg.

The woman contacted Houma police who discovered a vehicle that was registered to the girls’ Aunt, Pamela Johnson.

The Terrebonne Sheriff’s Department was contacted and they went to Johnson’s home in the 4000 block of Country Drive in Bourg.

That’s where detectives say they found Johnson’s Body.

Detectives also say that when they interviewed the girls they told them that a man had kidnapped them from the home in Bourg, after shooting their Aunt.

They also say that it appears that the girls were left alone in the car overnight.

Investigators say Johnson suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.

They have no suspects or motive at this time.
