NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The tribute to New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint will feature some of the biggest names in the industry.

Friday’s tribute to Toussaint will feature performances from the likes of Jimmy Buffett, Irma Thomas, Deacon John and Trombone Shorty. As well as, remarks from Elvis Costello and Boz Scaggs.

According to the Tribute’s program,  Deacon John will perform “Any Day Now,” Irma Thomas will perform “Walk Around Heaven All Day,” Jimmy Buffett will perform “Fortune Teller.”

Trombone Shorty will end today’s Tribute with a performance of “I’ll Fly Away.”

Jazz Fest creator Quint Davis will serve as Master of Ceremonies and the sermon will be given by Pastor Michael Green.

The event is being held at the Orpheum Theater and is also being simulcast on local radio station WWOZ.
