NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Four French Quarter bars including the popular Bourbon Cowboy and The Swamp have been stripped of their liquor license as part of “Operation Trick or Treat” by the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

Illegal drugs sales were discovered at the Bourbon Cowboy and The Swamp on Bourbon following the ATC investigation while illegal prostitution and drugs were found at Babes Cabaret and Big Daddy’s.

The ACT issued the emergency suspensions Thursday (November 5). But no word on how long they will last.

Last week 5 strip clubs and bars were stripped of their license to sell alcohol and tobacco products, but 24 hours later an Orleans Parish judge issued a temporary restraining order allowing three of those strip clubs to resume selling alcohol.

“We are in the second month of this operation and it will continue to run through the holidays. ATC will continue to do its part to weed out criminal activity at locations that are given the privilege to sell alcohol and tobacco,” stated Commissioner Troy Hebert.
