NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO) – A spokesman for the Louisiana National Guard has positively identified the 4 guardsmen killed when the Blackhawk Helicopter they were in crashed during a training exercise on March 10. They are Chief Warrant Officer 4 George Wayne Griffin Jr, 37; Chief Warrant Officer 4 George David Strother, 44; Staff-Sgt. Lance Bergeron, 40; and Staff Sgt. Thomas Florich, 26. All were assigned to the 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 244th Aviation Regiment. George Griffin Jr. was from Delhi, Louisiana, George Strother was from Alexandria, Louisiana, Lance Bergeron was from Thibodeaux, Louisiana and Tomas Florich was from Fairfax County, Virginia.
