NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – This year, Orpheus rolled early, hoping to avoid the rain. Orpheuscapade cruised into a big night. WGNO reporter Deepak Saini reports on the fun from the Krewe’s ball.

Crowds go wild as Orpheus puts on a grand spectacle. Country superstar Dierks Bentley, the cast of NCIS New Orleans and reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump are just some of the famous faces giving Orpheus its star power.

Colorful floats set Orpheus apart like the ‘Smokey Mary’ that holds more than 230 riders. In all, over 1,000 riders fill up more than 36 floats.

The parade turns into a party. Orpheuscapade 2015 lights up the Convention Center. Dapper men and bedazzled women in their gowns party the night away.

The theme this year for Orpheus is ‘The Magic of an Ordinary Day.’ All you have to do is look around to see this is anything but ordinary.
